Jiraffe, a UK provider of paediatric postural care equipment, has launched two innovative products, the Rifton Stander 3 and the Adaptive Desk, designed to help children live more comfortably, learn more easily, and enjoy greater independence.
The new assistive products are designed with flexibility in mind to ensure every child can take part in classroom activities and skill-building. They were developed to address the diverse needs of children with postural or mobility challenges.
The Rifton Stander 3 helps children stay active and comfortable for longer, supporting healthy development and encouraging participation in daily activities. It also provides a familiar and consistent experience as children grow, helping them build confidence and independence over time. These benefits come from its ability to be tailored precisely to each child’s needs, with features like prone and supine positions, adjustable hip abduction, and customised supports.
The Adaptive Desk creates an inclusive learning environment where children can engage fully in classroom tasks and skill-building activities without feeling excluded. Its quick, tool-free adjustments and wheelchair-accessible design allow it to be adapted easily to fit different postures, activities, and accessibility needs, removing barriers and fostering confidence and independence in learning.

Holly Jenkins, Managing Director of Jiraffe, said: “Every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and take part in life without unnecessary barriers. By listening to the children themselves, families and therapists, we’re able to offer solutions that are not only innovative but are also truly adaptable to individual needs.
“These are more than just pieces of equipment, they’re tools that help children feel comfortable, supported, and included in their daily environments. Each product is designed to adapt to children’s developing needs as they grow, enabling them to keep building confidence, skills, and independence over time.
“These latest additions are another step toward our vision of a bright and inclusive future for all children.”
From seating and standing to therapy, mobility, sleeping, and daily living, Jiraffe says it works closely with families, therapists, and schools to provide equipment that “makes a meaningful difference”.
Kieran Murphy, Clinical Partnerships Manager for Jiraffe, recently wrote an exclusive article for AT Today about how adaptive seating options for paediatric disability are pushing the design boundaries and improving children’s lives.
